Dr. Joseph Khouri is a board certified physician in Internal Medicine with 25 years of practice experience. Dr. Khouri was born in a small town in Lebanon. At age 18, he traveled to France for college and medical school. He attended medical school at the University of Caen, where he received his medical degree, graduating with magna cum laude in 1978. He then moved to the United States, where he completed a residency program in Internal Medicine at Richmond Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. After residency, he moved to Smyrna, Georgia where he has been practicing Internal Medicine since 1982.

From 1982 till 1994, Dr. J. Khouri worked as a solo practitioner, and also served as the medical director of the Eating Disorder Unit at Emory-Adventist Hospital. Then in 1994, he joined Emory Clinic where he remained until 2003. In June of that year, he moved back into private practice as a solo practitioner, in anticipation of his daughter’s joining the practice in 2006.

Dr. Khouri is married and lives in the Smyrna community with his wife and two of his three daughters. He speaks five languages, which include the following:

English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French

Dr. Karina Khouri Belinfante is a board certified physician of Internal Medicine. She sees patients ages 15 years and older. She treats various medical conditions ranging from the common cold to chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. She also performs maintenance exams such as Pap smears and prostate cancer screening. Dr. Belinfante received her undergraduate training at Emory University where she graduated with honors in 1999. She then attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia graduating in 2003. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Atlanta Medical Center 2006, becoming board certified in October 2006. She now works in her office on the Emory-Adventists Hospital campus, alongside her father, Dr. Joseph Khouri. She sees patients both in the office and in the hospital.

Dr. Belinfante is fluent in boh English and Spanish, and she is proficient in Portuguese. Her nurse is also fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Belinfante is married to her high school sweetheart, Josh Belinfante, and they have a young son born in April of 2006. She and her family live in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
